These terms apply to every trip booked with Packup & Go Safari. By confirming a booking or paying a deposit, you accept them. Your written confirmation may include extra conditions for your trip, and these take priority where they differ.
1. Booking and confirmation
A request sent through this website is not a confirmed booking. Your trip is confirmed only when we have checked availability, emailed you the final itinerary and price, and received your deposit.
2. Prices
Prices are quoted in US dollars unless we state otherwise, and are valid for the dates and group size in your quotation. Government taxes, park fees, permit costs and fuel prices can change outside our control. If this happens before you have paid in full, we will tell you about any change as soon as possible.
3. Deposit and final payment
- A deposit of 30% of the trip price is due to confirm your booking.
- The balance is due at least 60 days before your trip starts.
- If you book within 60 days of travel, the full amount is due when you confirm.
Permits and flights that must be bought in advance, such as gorilla permits, may need to be paid for in full when you book. Payment instructions are sent by email. Please check them with us by phone if anything looks unusual.
4. Cancellation by you
Cancellations must be sent to us in writing, and take effect on the day we receive them.
| Days before the trip starts | Cancellation charge |
|---|---|
| More than 60 days | 30% of the trip price (the deposit) |
| 31 to 60 days | 50% of the trip price |
| 15 to 30 days | 75% of the trip price |
| 14 days or fewer, or no-show | 100% of the trip price |
Permits, flights and other costs that suppliers will not refund are charged in full, whenever you cancel. We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation.
5. Changes by you
We will try to help if you want to change your trip, but cannot guarantee it. Any extra cost from a change is payable by you. Unused services after your trip has started, such as days missed through a late arrival or leaving early, are not refundable.
6. Changes or cancellation by us
Road conditions, weather, wildlife movements and safety can mean changing a route, a lodge or a vehicle. If this happens, we will offer an alternative of a similar standard. If we have to cancel your trip before it starts, you may choose another date or a refund of the amounts you have paid to us.
7. Events beyond our control
We are not responsible for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, epidemics, war, civil unrest, strikes, government action or flight disruption. We will do what we reasonably can to help, and refund any amounts we are able to recover from suppliers.
8. Your responsibilities
- Hold a valid passport and the visas, vaccination certificates and health documents required for your route.
- Hold suitable travel insurance, including medical and emergency evacuation cover.
- Tell us about any medical condition, dietary need or mobility concern when you book.
- Follow the instructions of your guide, park rules and local laws at all times.
9. Wildlife and activities
Safaris and mountain climbs involve natural risks. Wildlife sightings, including the Great Migration and gorillas, can never be guaranteed. A guide may refuse or end an activity for anyone whose condition or behaviour puts themselves or others at risk, without refund.
10. Our responsibility
We arrange your trip with care and work with suppliers we trust. Lodges, airlines and other independent suppliers provide their services under their own terms. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Complaints
If something is wrong during your trip, please tell your guide or call us straight away so we can try to fix it. Any complaint after the trip should be sent in writing to info@packupgosafari.com within 30 days of your return.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
