Planning your trip

How do I book a safari?
Open any tour and send a booking request or a question. We check availability and reply by email with the final price and payment details. Your booking is confirmed only after that.
Can you customise an itinerary?
Yes. We can adjust the dates, the length, the lodges and the pace to suit your travel style and budget.
When is the best time to go?
It depends on what you want to see. Our guide to the seasons explains the dry months, the rains and the wildebeest calving and migration.
Are your safaris suitable for families?
Many are. Some lodges and activities have age limits, including gorilla trekking, so tell us your children's ages and we will suggest what fits.
Can I combine a safari with Zanzibar?
Yes. A safari followed by a few days on the beach is one of our most popular combinations.
How much is the deposit, and can I cancel?
A 30% deposit confirms your trip, and the balance is due at least 60 days before you travel. Cancellation charges depend on the date, and are explained in our terms and conditions.

Before you travel

Do I need a visa?
Most visitors do. Requirements depend on your nationality, so check the official government website for each country on your route before you travel.
What vaccinations do I need?
Speak to a travel clinic several weeks before departure. Yellow fever certificates can be required depending on your route, and malaria prevention is advised for many areas.
Do I need travel insurance?
We strongly recommend insurance that covers medical treatment, emergency evacuation and trip cancellation.
What should I pack?
Light, neutral-coloured layers, a warm jacket for early mornings, comfortable shoes, sun protection, binoculars and a camera. See our packing guide for details.
