Itinerary

Your journey into Kenya’s wild beauty begins as you land in Nairobi, a vibrant city where modern culture meets the ancient spirit of East Africa. Our Packup & Go Safari representative will warmly welcome you and escort you to your hotel, giving you time to unwind after your long flight. As the evening settles, the anticipation of the adventure ahead fills the air, offering a perfect introduction to the wonders awaiting you.

Your first full day takes you deeper into Kenya’s unique relationship with wildlife. You visit the Giraffe Centre, where the elegant Rothschild giraffes roam calmly, before heading to the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to meet rescued baby elephants thriving under heartfelt care. Optional visits to the Karen Blixen Museum or the National Museum enrich your understanding of the culture and history that shape Kenya's identity. It’s a gentle yet inspiring beginning to your safari.

Leaving the city behind, you travel north into Samburu, a land of rugged hills, winding rivers, and rare species found nowhere else in Kenya. The moment you enter the reserve, the landscape shifts dramatically — a world where elephants gather along the Ewaso Nyiro River and the famous “Samburu Special Five” roam freely. Your first game drive here feels like stepping into an untouched wilderness.

The day unfolds in the golden light of Samburu, where you explore the reserve from sunrise to sunset. Every turn reveals something new — graceful Grevy’s zebras grazing quietly, reticulated giraffes wandering the dry plains, and predators lurking in the rocky outcrops. Samburu’s powerful beauty, both harsh and enchanting, gives you a deeper appreciation of Kenya’s incredible diversity.

Your adventure continues toward Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a sanctuary celebrated worldwide for its dedication to wildlife protection. Here, you experience unforgettable moments — from visiting rescued chimpanzees to standing near the world’s last remaining Northern White Rhinos. As you explore, you witness firsthand the impact of conservation efforts that protect the future of Kenya’s wildlife.

Descending into the Great Rift Valley, the scenery transforms dramatically as you approach Lake Nakuru National Park. Known for its rhinos, lions, and extraordinary birdlife, Nakuru offers a pristine lakeside ecosystem that surprises at every turn. The afternoon game drive reveals a tapestry of wildlife set against shimmering waters and acacia-dotted shores.

After breakfast, your journey continues to the calm shores of Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake teeming with hippos and birds. A peaceful boat ride brings you close to the wildlife, while a guided walk on Crescent Island offers intimate moments with giraffes, antelope, and zebras on foot. It is one of Kenya’s most serene and soul-refreshing experiences.

You then travel to the legendary Maasai Mara, a name that echoes across the world as one of the greatest wildlife destinations on Earth. Upon entering the reserve, wide open plains stretch endlessly around you, home to lions, leopards, elephants, and the Great Migration herds when in season. Your first game drive here feels like stepping into nature’s grandest stage.

This full day in the Mara brings you face-to-face with the essence of wild Africa. You traverse the sweeping grasslands, follow the winding Mara River, and witness dramatic wildlife moments — from grazing herds to powerful predators on the hunt. Time seems to slow as you immerse yourself in the raw beauty and rhythm of this extraordinary reserve, where every sighting feels like a gift.

A second day in the Mara reveals even more of its magic. With morning and afternoon game drives or an optional hot-air balloon safari drifting over the plains, you unlock deeper layers of this magnificent ecosystem. The Mara has a way of capturing your spirit — its sunrises unforgettable, its wildlife unforgettable, its landscapes endless.

After one final sunrise or a relaxed breakfast, you depart the Mara with memories carved forever into your heart. Your journey back to Nairobi marks the end of an extraordinary eleven days — a safari that brought you across Kenya’s diverse landscapes, abundant wildlife, and timeless beauty. You are transferred to the airport for your departure, completing a once-in-a-lifetime adventure with Packup & Go Safari.
