The Marangu Route, often referred to as the “Coca-Cola Route,” is the most affordable option for those aiming to summit Mount Kilimanjaro. This unique route is the only one equipped with comfortable sleeping huts at each campsite, complete with solar lights and cozy beds.

Accommodations are communal, featuring bunks with sponge mattresses and pillows to ensure a restful night’s sleep. Mandara and Kibo Huts each offer 60 beds, while Horombo Hut accommodates up to 120 climbers. The lower huts also provide running water and bathrooms, while the final camp has basic latrines for both men and women.

Climbers from around the globe share meals in dining huts, creating a vibrant and friendly atmosphere. Typically, the Marangu Route can be completed in 5 days, making it the shortest path to the summit, though it can be extended to 6 days for better acclimatization. The additional day allows climbers to relax at Horombo or take on the small peak of Mawenzi for stunning views.
